Healthcare as a Business: Big Data and Consumerism

Part of the Practitioner’s Perspective Lecture Series

Deborah Viola, ’84, is Vice President, Data Management and Analytics, for Westchester Medical Center Health Network. She is responsible for information management activities across the Network, including business intelligence, comprehensive quality reporting, strategic analytics, information governance and population health analytics.
Prior to joining Westchester Medical Center, Deborah was an Associate Professor, Director and Co-founder of the Doctoral Program in Health Policy and Management and the Center for Long Term Care Research & Policy at New York Medical College. She remains on the faculty as Adjunct Associate Professor of Health Policy and Management. She received a doctorate in economics in 1998 from the Graduate School at the City University of New York as a Robert E. Gilleece Fellow. Deborah is also an alumni of Adelphi University, Class of 1984. She was the recipient of the Phi Beta Kappa Full Tuition Scholarship and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a BBA in Business. She is a founding member of the Kappa Rho Chapter of Delta Sigma Pi.
