Jump Start Into Your Career

Join the Class of 2016, the Class of 2017, Alumni Relations and Center for Career and Professional Development to learn strategies and tips on how to network. You will receive some great skills and a chance to network with our alumni.

In addition, participate in a workshop with Jaime Petkanics from The Prepary on networking for your job search. Jaime will walk you through why networking is critical step in your job search process, how to put together your elevator pitch, and how to leverage networking to learn about different career paths and land interviews. You’ll walk away with tools, templates, and a complete networking game plan.

Jaime Petkanics

Jaime Petkanics is the founder of Prepary, an online resource and consulting service devoted to helping people navigate their job searches and careers.

Prior to starting the Prepary, Jaime spent seven years on recruiting and human resources teams at J.P. Morgan and Tory Burch where she hired people at all levels, managed internship programs and worked on new hire on-boarding and training programs. Jaime’s advice has been featured in Fast Company, Business Insider, Forbes and many more!

The Leadership Certificate Program is an interdepartmental initiative hosted by the Center for Career and Professional Development, the Center for Student Involvement, the Office of Alumni Relations and the Robert B. Willumstad School of Business.

Its goal is to offer Adelphi undergraduate and graduate students opportunities to develop leadership and professional skills. Participants are able to attend workshops on a wide variety of topics during the course of the year. 

Requirements for Students

To participate in the Leadership Certificate Program, you must RSVP for a minimum of six events. Each student must complete the workshops within the academic year. Events are added throughout the year.
