Keeping Up With The Times

In conversation with moderator Steve Jones ’89, President and Chief Operating Officer of Skyview Networks, Ellen Pollock will discuss press issues, the role of fake news, and decisions CEOs are making when it comes to corporate social responsibility.

About the Speaker

Ellen Pollock has been editor of Business Day, the business section at The New York Times, since April 2017.

Ms. Pollock came to The New York Times from Bloomberg Businessweek, where she served as the magazine’s editor. She was the first woman to hold the position at the magazine.

Prior to joining Bloomberg Businessweek, Ms. Pollock worked at The Wall Street Journal for 18 years as a reporter and editor. Articles she worked on as an editor at The Journal won Pulitzer Prizes in 2003 and 2005. She is the author of “The Pretender: How Martin Frankel Fooled the Financial World and Led the Feds on One of the Most Publicized Manhunts in History.”

Ms. Pollock is a graduate of Brandeis University and a great believer in the power of dark chocolate.

President and Chief Operating Officer of Skyview Networks
As President and Chief Operating Officer of Skyview Networks, Steve Jones is charged with leading Skyview Networks’ growth in sports play-by-play, content creation across platforms, syndication, network sales, distribution of audio and technology innovation. Reporting to co-founder and CEO Ken Thiele, Jones began his new role with Skyview Networks in April 2019 and is based between Skyview Networks’ Scottsdale corporate and New York offices.
Jones was a 2010 Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism Fellow in the Sulzberger Executive Leadership Program and often speaks about media strategy for the audio business. He is on the President’s Advisory Council at Adelphi University from which he possesses an undergraduate degree.
