Join alumni, friends, and art lovers of all ages for a day at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, as we tour one of the world’s finest private collections of Japanese baskets and bamboo sculptures. Featuring more than 90 works by six artists, the Abbey Collection is a spectacular loan exhibition offered by Adelphi alumna, Diane Abbey ’59 and her husband Arthur Abbey. Acclaimed by the New York Times, the majority of the works have never been presented before. Over 70 are promised gifts to the MET.

Adelphi Art Professor and MET Lecturer, Pamela Koehler, MA ’02, will lead our guided insiders visit. 

Lunch will be on your own. A few possible choices available inside the museum include, The Petrie Court Cafe, The American Wing Cafe, or The Cafeteria.

$30 per person– includes breakfast on campus, transportation, admission to museum and audio headsets.

Travel from the Adelphi Campus:

9:00 AM – Breakfast in the Angello Alumni

10:00 AM – Buses depart for the MET

11:30 – 4:00 PM – Abbey Collection & Museum Tour with free time in the galleries and lunch on your own

4:00 PM – Buses return to Adelphi
