Part of the Practitioner’s Perspective Lecture Series

Scott Gibney has focused on fostering the success of students and business professionals in his roles as a Fortune 200 executive, U.S. Naval officer, and career advisor. As an executive at Mastercard Incorporated, one of the world’s leading brands, he played key roles in mergers and acquisitions, emerging technology, and brand management. Gibney’s background includes leading diverse global teams that designed and delivered services to 22,000 banks, corporations, and governments around the world. As a Captain in the U.S. Navy (reserve) he held multiple senior level positions including commanding officer and executive officer. His responsibilities included establishing logistics, port, and strategic capabilities to assist sealift operations globally. He holds a U.S. Coast Guard license as a Third Mate for navigating unlimited tonnage vessels on the world’s oceans.

Along with his wife Susan, he provides coaching on college planning, career development and personal finance.
