Panther Day of Service


The Center for Student Involvement is offering the Adelphi community the chance to participate in our spring Panther Day of Service. The goal of the service event is to give back to the communities that surround Adelphi University.

Interact with students, staff, and faculty while visiting various locations completing projects, doing arts and crafts with the elderly, etc. Faculty, staff and students are able to connect on a different level outside of the classroom and office working on projects together to better the community. Check-in will be in the Center For Recreation and Sports Lobby an hour before the start time of your service project. Meet at 9:00 a.m. for 10:00 a.m. service sites and 1:00 p.m. for the 2:00 p.m. service sites. Registration is first-come, first served.

Faculty, staff and students are invited to participate!

Please bring one canned good to check-in and/or a quarter that will be donated to Loving Orphans Global Project Rote.

Along with filling out the registration form, please fill out the driving form if you are planning on transporting other students with you.

Community service options

HorseAbility

10:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m.

Volunteers will help manage the stables and set it up for a haunted house. They will clean the surrounding area and some will help groom the horses as well. Please be prepared to work inside and out so dress warm and have close toed shoes!

Transportation provided by CSI.

Volunteers will play word games, board games and crosswords with the residents and do arts and crafts.

Msgr. Fagan Residences

10:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m.

Since 1974, Catholic Charities has operated community residences to help individuals achieve their highest level of functioning and to participate as fully as possible in the surrounding community. Volunteers will be doing arts and crafts with the residents and playing games.

Personal transportation is required.

Relay For Life

10:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m. 
Nassau Blvd, 7th ave and Roosevelt Mall

Volunteers will solicite for Relay raffles / monetary donations for Adelphi’s Relay for Life event in the spring.

Garden Care Center

2:00 p.m.–5:00 p.m.

Volunteers will play word games, board games and crosswords with the residents of the center.

Spooky Fest Set Up

10:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m.

Volunteers will help build props for Spooky Fest.

Theodore Roosevelt Sanctuary & Audubon Center

2:00 p.m.–5:00 p.m.

Volunteers will do trail work and invasive clearing on the property.

Island Harvest – Key Foods in Garden City
