PopSwap 2017

Recycle your old exhibition cards and turn them into gems of wonder! Adelphi University Exhibitions Program invites ALL artists to participate in the fifth annual art exchange/pop up exhibit! This hugely popular event on campus is now open to the public and all are welcome!

Paint on it, print on it, sculpt with it, paste on it. Use them as a platform for your next work of art.
If you recycle it, we will showcase it. 

Submission Guidelines

  • Open to all artists.
  • All media accepted. Original work must be created on or with exhibition cards from any gallery or museum you have visited. Adelphi University exhibition cards are free and located at the Ruth S. Harley University Center Gallery (see gallery sitter). Artists may pick up as many exhibition cards from the POPSWAP pile as they please.
  • Submission Limit 5
  • All artwork must be labeled with artist name, title and medium.
  • All participants must be present April 24.

April 24 Event Info

6:00 p.m.–7:00 p.m. — Registration and Tickets

Upon arrival, participants register and pick tickets at random. Number of tickets correspond to number of works submitted. (i.e. If you submitted 5 pieces you will pick 5 tickets.)  

 7:00p.m.–7:30 p.m. — Swap
Once everyone has picked their tickets, artists locate works with corresponding ticket numbers. Afterward, you may swap amongst yourselves as long as both parties are in agreement. If you receive your own artwork number you can either keep your work or trade.

NOTE: All work submitted is to be exchanged. No monetary value will be applied to the works. All artists must be present for the reception/popswap to participate.
