Nancy Albert, a therapist serving the Student Counseling Center for the past 12 years, graduated from Barnard College, Columbia University (majoring in Economics/Business). Following a stint at various companies, she devoted her efforts to raising her two daughters, during which time she also worked at the Sid Jacobson JCC in their Dementia Day Care Program. During her tenure there, the JCC received a grant for early-onset Alzheimer’s Day Care (35 years and older), a program that consumed much of her time through the ensuing three years. Her experience there impelled her to further her dedication and education in social work, ultimately graduating from the Adelphi School of Social Work and, thereafter, was invited to become a member of the Student Counseling Center in 2007 where she has enjoyed practicing to this very day. Although she specializes in the field of suicidology, her general practice includes trauma and grief counseling, anxiety disorders and addressing family dysfunction.

This event is part of Adelphi’s Work-Life Wellness Certificate Program. However, you do not need to be a part of the program to attend this event.

About the Work-Life Wellness Certificate Program

The Work-Life Wellness Certificate Program is an initiative hosted by Health Services Center.

Its goal is to assist Adelphi undergraduate and graduate students in developing skills to bring with them for life after college. This program will enable students to evaluate potential areas of need through a wellness survey, and will address 6 different topic areas.
