Reforming the UN Peace and Security Architecture for the 21st Century

Join us for a special guest lecture by Calin Trenkov-Wermuth, Ph.D., Levermore Global Scholars Research Fellow.

The new UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has initiated the reform of the UN’s peace and security architecture. In this context, this lecture will explore how the UN may be updated and reformed to better handle the challenges of the 21st Century.

Dr. Trenkov-Wermuth has taught at Columbia University, New York University, the University of Cambridge, Bard College, Baruch College, the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, and Hamilton College. He has worked at the United Nations Department of Political Affairs and Department of Peacekeeping Operations in New York, at the NATO Parliamentary Assembly in Brussels, and at the European Union Institute for Security Studies in Paris.

He earned his Ph.D. in International Relations from the University of Cambridge.
