Succeeding in a Rapidly Changing World: Advice From the Front Lines

Part of the Practitioners’ Perspective Lecture Series.

Curtiss Jacobs is the Co-founder and Managing Partner of Uptown Advisory Group LLC (UAG) responsible for business development, due diligence and overseeing large-scale engagements in the Curtiss Jacobsfinancial services, not for profit and education sectors.

Prior to founding UAG, Jacobs held senior leadership positions for over 25 years at global organizations such as American International Group, Citigroup,  Pitney Bowes and the Bank of America.

A true proponent of diversity and inclusivity, Jacobs is especially skilled at building and leading diverse, cross-functional teams that effectively maximize operational efficiencies within global organizations.

Jacobs earned a B.S. in management and communications from Adelphi University and holds an M.B.A. in international business from Northeastern University. He is the President of 100 Black Men of Long Island and he is a National Board Officer, 100 Black Men of America.

There will be a light mixer after the lecture in University Center, Room 213.

This event is part of Adelphi’s Leadership Certificate Program. However, you do not need to be a part of the Leadership Certificate Program to attend this event.

The Leadership Certificate Program is an interdepartmental initiative hosted by the Center for Career and Professional Development, the Center for Student Involvement, the Office of Alumni Relations and the Robert B. Willumstad School of Business.

Its goal is to offer Adelphi undergraduate and graduate students opportunities to develop leadership and professional skills. Participants are able to attend workshops on a wide variety of topics during the course of the year. 

Requirements for Students

To participate in the Leadership Certificate Program, you must RSVP for a minimum of six events. Each student must complete the workshops within the academic year. Events are added throughout the year.
