Supporting Teachers as they Adjust to the Professional and Personal Challenges of Distance Learning

Maintaining School Mental Health Services in the Midst of The COVID-19 Crisis

The Postgraduate Programs in Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy in the Derner School of Psychology are pleased to invite you to a free zoom workshop for school mental health practitioners.

1.5 CE credits
LMSW/LCSW, PsyD

Many teachers are attempting to balance their professional responsibilities with their parental responsibilities, as their children are now home with them. Preparation for these dramatic changes was limited at best.  It is no surprise that recent surveys have reported teachers feeling fearful, exhausted and irritable. Support from their trusted building school psychologists, school social workers and school guidance counselors can be extremely meaningful during this time of unprecedented stress.

The panel members for this workshop are all current or former school mental health professionals. They will demonstrate effective strategies and interventions designed to guide school mental health practitioners toward supporting teachers who are coping with the many personal and professional challenges they face as a result of the COVID-19 Pandemic. Open dialogue with the audience will be provided and case material from participants is encouraged.

Registrants are encouraged to submit questions and to express their interests before and during the presentation. Ample time will be provided for interaction between audience members and the speakers.
