English as a New Language (ENL) Workshop: Team Collaboration and Co-teaching Strategies

This workshop is offered as part of a specially designed series of workshops developed by the Ruth S. Ammon School of Education to support all teachers in their work with students who are learning English as a new language.

Fee: $160

This workshop explores the five main approaches to co-teaching: one teach, one support, parallel teaching, alternative teaching, station teaching, and team teaching. In doing so, the workshop provides provides practical opportunities for teachers to engage in co-teaching simulations as well as co-planning.

The focus is on interdisciplinary collaboration to challenge and support English learners. A portion of the workshop is also devoted to examining more effective ways to communicate with parents and paraprofessionals. Teachers will become familiar with and experiment with basic technological tools for collaboration.
