We invite you to join us for an insightful and practical workshop that will address these issues and concerns. Our presenter is Dr. Don Martin from Grad School Road Map. Dr. Don worked as Dean of Admissions and Financial Aid/Dean of Students for 28 years, assisting thousands of prospective and current graduate school students. You will gain relevant information that will help you navigate your transition to graduate school and paying for your education.

About Dr. Don Martin

Dr. Martin spent 28 years in graduate enrollment and student services.He was Dean of Admissions/Financial Aid and Dean of Students at Columbia University (Teachers College), The University of Chicago (Booth School of Business), Northwestern University (Medill School of Journalism) and Wheaton College (IL).

He holds master’s degree from Wheaton College (1983) and a Ph.D. from Northwestern University (1995). Dr. Martin wrote and published Road Map for Graduate Study: A Guide for Prospective Graduate Students in 2008 (2nd edition released in July 2018, and an International Student supplement in 2009).

Dr. Martin is a regular contributor and coaching partner with, a monthly contributor for CollegeXPress, and a former weekly columnist, US News & World Report Magazine. He had a weekly post on the GRE Facebook page, entitled “The Dr. Don Martin Series,” and currently provides video clips for the page. Dr. Martin is also a contributor for SPAN magazine in India. He has made graduate school presentations on over 50 college and university campuses in North America, Europe and Asia, and speaks at educational and graduate school conferences, fairs and workshops across the US. He also coaches grad school applicants worldwide (97% acceptance rate).


Leadership Certificate Program LogoAbout the Leadership Certificate Program

The Leadership Certificate Program is an interdepartmental initiative hosted by the Center for Career and Professional Development, the Center for Student Involvement, the Office of Alumni Relations and the Robert B. Willumstad School of Business.

Its goal is to offer Adelphi undergraduate and graduate students opportunities to develop leadership and professional skills. Participants are able to attend workshops on a wide variety of topics during the course of the year. 

Requirements for Students

To participate in the Leadership Certificate Program, you must RSVP for a minimum of six events. Each student must complete the workshops within the academic year. Events are added throughout the year.
